ABOUT ONEHOUSE ARTS
We are always looking for community partners to host children’s art shows!
OneHouse Arts is an experimental art school that combines the spirit of active research, art practice and self-expression with children’s cognitive development process. Our mission is to establish an intimate relationship between people of all ages and art as well as improve students’ aesthetic ability and image communication skills. In collaboration with Authentic Children Art Association, we uplift children’s art as critical and genuine work that deserves to be shown in community and regional spaces. Our lessons emphasize that creative work goes beyond technique. By using a mindful philosophy, OneHouse focuses on drawing out the true imaginative potential of each artist, embracing authenticity and self-expression.
OneHouse Arts founder and contemporary artist Rachel Guan Rong’s 5-step children’s art education philosophy:
IDEA – helping children discover art on their own by asking questions about their ideas
METHOD – introducing them to various methods of artmaking
OPEN – staying open to their artistic inclinations
MAKE – providing them with safe space to create
WORLD – giving their art a place in the world at large

“OneHouse is a very special place. I am a fan and a follower. Every time I see pictures by the children, I am thrilled and inspired. I am an artist – one who believes that we are all artists because we all respond creatively to the world around us and want to share our feelings. Children understand this intuitively. This spirit of openness is clearly integral to OneHouse whose teachers understand how to nurture and respect the talent that exists in children before society divides us into hierarchies of the workaday world. I remember when I was eight years old, I had a very special art teacher and to this day I still remember all the projects I did with her. Likewise, I am sure that the children who participate in OneHouse will remember all the snakes and pandas and lions and duck ponds and faces that they paint with such gusto and those images will become part of who they are.”
