Using art lessons from OneHouse Arts and in collaboration with the children, we want to help make specialized corners and “interiors” that will spur a child’s imagination and creativity in their own bedroom. Each space will be unique and individualized to the child, while promoting more contemporary imaginative spaces and less cartoon-y cliches. We want to uplift non-traditional and conceptual art methods to help their imaginations bloom, taking into consideration different levels of child psychology and their education stages.

CEILING INSTALLATION
An empty ceiling will instead become an imaginative playground for all trinkets, unused plastic toys, fruit, and paper designs, easily attached with putty or non-toxic and eco-friendly materials.

CHALK WALL
By using a special chalk paint, we can transform any wall into a design and imagination space for children of all ages to draw fleeting doodles and ideas.

FELT WALL
Another ephemeral space that can support a child’s interest in textiles and shapes! Felt toys made from different patterns into different animals or shapes can help a child’s developmental process– they can better understand categories of objects, making fun toys, and storytelling on a flat surface.

DISPLAY BOXES: helping kids build their own collections
These plastic or glass boxes with lighting are spaces to collect memory-items that might otherwise be lost, helping the children learn how to curate and draw relationships between different objects’ colors, shapes, and uses.

WALL PAINTING
The ideas for murals ranging in size will come from our art lessons and also the children themselves! After a private lesson to create the designs, we’ll work together to paint their vision.

BOOKSHELF (book suggestions)
A curated reading corner with cool designed chairs with a bookshelf, with potential as a study area. Our reading list includes magazines and storybooks for different ages and written internationally, but all wonderful sources for studies on texture, drawing styles, medium techniques, colors, and tapping into a child’s imagination.

These bigger pieces can activate a treasured object or dream into a sculpture! The children can have a bigger hands-on project to make come alive, resulting in a special life-sized installation.

By using our collected objects and hand-made toys, we can create Rube Goldberg systems with the kids to practice physics and also understand how our creations can otherwise be used!
